On Sunday at around 2:10 p.m., Sault police officers charged a 43-year-old woman after someone called 911 about an erratic driver in the 200 block of Second Line West.
After receiving the call, officers were dispatched to the area where they found the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
Upon speaking with the driver, officers developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by drug, police said in a news release.
Officers conducted a standardized field sobriety test and the accused performed poorly.
Jennifer Dumoulin was arrested and transported to police headquarters for an evaluation by a drug recognition expert.
βThe evaluation determined the accused was impaired by drug,β the release said.
Dumoulin is charged with:
Operation While Impaired β Drug and/or Alcohol
Operation While Impaired β Blood Drug Concentration
Dangerous Operation
None of the allegations have been tested in court and Dumoulin is considered innocent until proven guilty.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 31.
