Downed power lines caused by a collision cause traffic delays in Surrey

DOWNED power lines due to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 176 Street and 8 Avenue in Surrey have traffic closed at various nearby intersections, including 176 Street and 4 Avenue, 176 Street and 12 Avenue, 176 Street and 16 Avenue, 184 Street and 8 Avenue, and 172 Street and 8 Avenue.

BC Hydro crews are on scene attempting to fix the power lines, but delays are expected to take several hours. Motorists are being diverted at the above-mentioned intersections and are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

There were no reported injuries in the collision, Surrey Police say.
