A motorcyclist is dead following a vehicle collision in Brampton Tuesday morning, Peel police say.
The crash happened near Sun Pac Boulevard and Queen Street E. around 7:40 a.m., said Tyler Bell, acting sergeant for media relations with Peel police.
“Sadly despite the best efforts of paramedics, the motorcyclist — a man in his 30s — was pronounced deceased on scene,” he told CBC News.
The driver of the vehicle, a sedan, remained on scene. There’s nothing initially to suggest impairment or excessive speeds were a factor, Bell said.
“What it looks like at this point is that the sedan was making a left-hand turn through the intersection and was struck by the motorcyclist,” he said.
“Who did what in the proper sequencing is under investigation now.”
All eastbound and westbound lanes on Queen Street from Delta Park Boulevard to Humber West Parkway are currently closed, police said on social media.
Anyone with dash-cam footage of the incident is being asked to contact investigators.
