Parkinson Wellness Projects will host a community send-off on Aug. 9 for the 2026 Pedalling for Parkinson’s Spinning Wheels Tour, a cross-country cycling event.
The tour returns after travelling across Canada in 2025 to raise awareness of Parkinson’s disease and support fundraising efforts. Most of the riders are people living with Parkinson’s, highlighting the role exercise and community support can play in managing the disease.
The send-off will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Parkinson Wellness Projects parking lot, in front of Tim Hortons at 2680 Blanshard St. Riders will depart at 10 a.m. and travel along the Galloping Goose Trail to Sidney before returning to Victoria.
Community members and supporters are invited to meet the riders before they depart. Members of the public are also welcome to cheer on the cyclists or join the ride for all or part of the route.
Anyone wishing to participate in the ride must register and complete a waiver in advance.
