According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Paul Wanner’s move to PSV Eindhoven is actually a full transfer and not a loan. However, Bayern Munich has secured a buyback clause on Wanner:
According to a report from Kicker’s Mario Krischel (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich has turned away a loan offer from Borussia Mönchengladbach, but Werder Bremen and PSV Eindhoven were both still in play for a move as of earlier today:
Bayern have rejected a loan bid from Borussia Mönchengladbach for Paul Wanner. PSV and Werder Bremen remain in the race. Wanner wants regular game time – and although there’s currently a spot in the squad in Jamal Musiala’s absence, neither Wanner nor Bayern seem to be entirely convinced that the time has come for the 19-year old to have a serious shot at the first team. There’s no final decision yet.
That second to last sentence of the report is…interesting. With a gaping hole at the No. 10 position, it is very curious that Wanner is not yet ready to take a chance with the first team.
Per Sky Germany, though, Wanner will not be heading to Werder Bremen and is packing his bags for the Netherlands:
Hopefully, this next loan assignment will get him to that point.
Bayern Munich will kick off its Bundesliga season against RB Leipzig in what should be a fun start to the league season.
The Bavarians are seeking to defend their status as reigning champions, while RB Leipzig is going to look to build a great base of talent into a cohesive team — something that has not always proven to be the easiest task in East Germany.
