We get it. Everyone wants to know what happens after Shane and Ilya’s trip to the cottage, but Heated Rivalry showrunner Jacob Tierney is urging fans to give the cast and crew some space while they work on the show’s second season.
“As we gear up for more Heated Rivalry, please help us in making it the best it can be,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “If you happen to come across one of our filming locations, please give our case and crew the space they need to do what they do best.”
Lead actors Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie were recently spotted in Toronto, where part of the second season will be shot. The production will also be coming to Montreal, so if you are reading this, Tierney’s plea for calm almost certainly applies to you.
Based on a series of novels by Rachel Reid, the gay hockey romance series became an overnight hit on Crave after its première last November and blew up south of the border on HBO Max.
Heated Rivalry
Since the show became a sensation, its stars have at times struggled to establish boundaries with fans and the press.
In March, Williams and François Arnaud decried “parasocial” fan behaviour in identical Instagram posts. In July, Williams confronted autograph seekers who had followed him to the apartment he was staying at in Paris. Last week, the gossip site DeuxMoi reported that Storrie told a fan wanting a selfie in Toronto, “Sorry I’m not doing photos right now, but it was really nice to meet you.”
Season 2 of Heated Rivalry is scheduled to be released in spring 2027.
