Skye Nicolson Withdraws from August 29 Card Due to Injury
WBC Super Bantamweight World Champion Skye Nicolson has been forced to withdraw from the August 29 event in Birmingham, England, after suffering an injury during training.
The Australian Star.was scheduled to defend her WBC Super Bantamweight title against Japan’s Miyo Yoshida in one of the featured bouts of the Most Valuable Promotions card. In a statement, Nicolson expressed her disappointment at being unable to compete and said she hopes to reschedule the fight before the end of the year.
Nicolson became the WBC Super Bantamweight World Champion in May of this year after the title became vacant. This marks her second WBC world title. From 2024 to 2025, she reigned as the WBC Featherweight World Champion.
Tysie Gallagher will replace Nicolson on the card while the champion begins her recovery process.
