Omaha, Neb. — Bluejay Men’s Soccer starts its seventh season under head coach Johnny Torres with two matches in Florida this weekend as Creighton faces Florida Atlantic on Thursday at 6:00 p.m., then battles Florida International on Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

Season Opening Success

Creighton is 22-5-8 during their first match of the season since Creighton restarted its men’s soccer program in 1990. 

Scouting Creighton (0-0-0)

The Bluejays enter the 2025 season with a nice blend of new talent and veteran leadership. Miguel Arilla, transfer Luka Nedic and Omar Ramadan are set to lead Creighton’s offensive attack, while the tandem of Matthew Reed and Andrija Savic will anchor the back line. 

Matthew Hudson has won the first goalkeeping job to open the 2025 season. Creighton went 9-6-3 last season, including a 4-2-1 mark in road contests.

Scouting Florida Atlantic (0-0-0)

The Owls went 7-6-3 last season, including a 3-3-1 mark in the AAC. Florida Atlantic was picked sixth of 10 in the American Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll. FAU went 5-2-1 at home last season. 

Scouting Florida International (0-0-0)

The Panthers went 6-6-6 during the 2024 season, including 3-2-1 at home. Florida International was picked second of 10 in the American Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll. FAU went 2-2-3 in AAC contests last season.  

Weekend Battle Features FAU and FIU hosting Creighton and Omaha

Florida Atlantic and Florida International will battle Creighton and Omaha over the opening weekend. Creighton starts at FAU, then faces FIU on Sunday. The Mavericks play the opposite route facing FIU on Thursday, then FAU on Sunday.
