Brampton’s downtown core will be transformed into a celebration of Filipino culture this weekend as the Brampton Fiesta Extravaganza brings music, food, dance and community together at Gage Park.

The free two-day festival runs Aug. 8 and 9 and will showcase the traditions and talents of the Filipino community, while inviting residents from across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area to experience the sights, sounds and flavours of the Philippines.

Organized by Philippine FACES Inc. (Festival of Arts, Culture, Entertainment and Sports), in collaboration with Philippine Extravaganza of Arts, Culture and Heritage (PEACH), the event celebrates Filipino heritage through live performances, cultural displays, traditional dance, food vendors and family-friendly activities.

This year marks a new chapter for the festival as it moves to downtown Brampton for the first time, taking place at Gage Park, located at 45 Main Street South.

Organizers say the new location will allow the festival to become part of the city’s downtown summer experience, surrounded by local restaurants, businesses and transit connections.

Brampton Fiesta Extravaganza 2026 will feature live performances throughout the weekend, including appearances by Filipino music stars Bugoy Drilon and Ronnie Liang.

Visitors can expect a mix of traditional and contemporary Filipino entertainment, including cultural dance performances, live music, marketplace vendors and authentic Filipino cuisine.

The festival is designed to showcase the diversity of Filipino culture, from traditional art forms and storytelling to modern entertainment and the growing contributions of Filipino Canadians in the community.

“Events like these provide an opportunity for people to celebrate their heritage while also sharing their culture with the wider community,” organizers said.

Philippine FACES Inc. is a Canadian non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Filipino culture through festivals, arts programming and community events. PEACH works with Filipino-Canadian organizations across North America to present Fiesta Extravaganza celebrations in different communities.

The festival runs Saturday, Aug. 8 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 9 from noon to 7 p.m. at Gage Park.

Admission is free.
