Our WNBA expert is backing the Aces, who are catching a slew of points today vs. the Liberty.

The Las Vegas Aces look to end their five-game road trip on a high note as they visit the streaking New York Liberty in Brooklyn today.

The Liberty have picked up wins in six of their last seven — with their lone loss during the fun-run coming to these Aces. And yet, oddsmakers have Vegas as a steep 9.5-point road underdog.

My Aces vs. Liberty predictions and WNBA picks have Vegas, a team tied for the most road wins in WNBA this year, taking advantage of all those points on Sunday, Aug. 9.

Aces vs Liberty prediction
Aces vs Liberty best bet: Aces +9.5 (-110)

The New York Liberty offense has been rolling, scoring 92+ in every game during this streak. However, its defense has cratered, allowing 95.1 points per game while opponents shoot 49.1% overall and 40.4% from three.

That vulnerability has contributed to a 1-6 ATS mark.

The Las Vegas Aces have the offense to tax a defense (91.8 points), as well as a defense that limits damage, ranking second in both points allowed off turnovers and fast-break points.

The Aces also finish trips strong. Vegas has covered the final game of three of its last four multi-game road trips. I’d back the Aces at +6.5 or better.

Covers COVERS INTEL: While A’ja Wilson gets plenty of the spotlight for Vegas, Jackie Young is a superb sidekick to the 2-time reigning MVP. Young has stacked up a nice scoring run, putting up at least 22 points in seven of her last eight games.

Jackie Young’s scoring prowess also extends to her numbers against New York, where she’s topped her 18.5-point scoring line set for Sunday in four of her last five vs. the Liberty.

Sabrina Ionescu has pulled down at least five boards in three of her last five games. Ionescu has also upped her output against Vegas, recording seven or more rebounds in each of the Liberty’s last three home games against the Aces.

Aces vs Liberty player prop pick
A’ja Wilson Over 25.5 points (-115)

WNBA leading scorer A’ja Wilson saw her streak of 20+ point games end at a dozen, as she was held to 17 points on 5-for-17 shooting in a loss to Minnesota.

I’m betting the bounce back, as Wilson has only two back-to-back sub 20-point scoring games on the year. The last time she played New York, she lit them up for 33.
