The main car deck elevator on the following BC Ferries sailings on the route between Tsawwassen (Vancouver) and Duke Point / Departure Bay (Nanaimo) is currently out of service.

Access between the vehicle decks and passenger decks is limited to stairs only.

Affected Sailings:

9:00 am departing Duke Point

11:30 am departing Tsawwassen

2:00 pm departing Duke Point

4:30 pm departing Tsawwassen (for Departure Bay)

Portable washrooms:

BC Ferries says they are currently sourcing accessible portable washroom facilities and expect them to be available on the vehicle deck as soon as possible.

Option to travel later:

Customers travelling in vehicles who require elevator access to the passenger decks will be given the option to travel at a later time.

“We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result. Our team is working to fix the elevators and will provide updates as soon as they become available,” says BC Ferries in a bulletin issued at 8:51 am this morning.
