One person is in hospital following a fire Sunday morning in a high-rise apartment building in Winnipeg’s Centennial neighbourhood.
The blaze broke out just after 4:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Elgin Avenue.
Several crews were called to the scene due to the risks associated with fighting a fire in a high-rise building.
Smoke billowing from building
Smoke was billowing from the apartment complex when crews arrived. Firefighters took about half an hour to get the blaze under control.
