US president Donald Trump has named the new 12-hole layout at his Turnberry resort after himself.
You can now play the new golf course at Trump Turnberry.
The Scottish resort’s nine-hole Arran course has been completely reimagined and renamed “Trump’s Twelve” – a par-3 layout featuring holes ranging from 70 to 206 yards, while areas of natural wasteland and water hazards have been added to provide extra challenges.
A post on the club’s social media accounts described the new 12-hole course as “a brand new way to experience golf at Trump Turnberry” as well as adding “a fresh dimension to the resort’s world class golf offering”.
It continued: “Multiple teeing options make the course equally enjoyable for beginners, families and experienced golfers looking to sharpen their short game. We look forward to welcoming everyone to experience the newest addition to our golfer’s paradise.”
Visitor tee times to play Trump’s Twelve, which complements the resorts superlative Ailsa course as well as the always-enjoyable King Robert the Bruce layout, are set at £120 – around $160 – and can be booked via the Turnberry website.
The Ailsa course, which has undergone extensive renovations under the expertise of renowned architect Martin Ebert, is ranked 3rd in our Top 100 Best Golf Courses in the UK and Ireland and 4th in our Top 100 Best Golf Courses in the World lists.
The four-time Open Championship venue is currently not in The R&A’s plans to bring bring the Claret Jug back to the Ayrshire venue.
