A 68-year-old Burnaby woman is dead after being hit by a vehicle Monday.

Burnaby RCMP was called to a crash at Pender Street and MacDonald Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 10 where the pedestrian – the 68-year-old – had serious injuries.

Police say she received emergency medical aid at the scene and was transported to hospital, but she did not survive.

The driver of the vehicle, RCMP said, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service are working to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal crash.

Police are now looking to speak with witnesses and seeking dash-cash or security footage. Anyone who was in the area between 6:25 and 6:45 p.m. is asked to contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
