Top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight prospect Payton Talbott is being targeted for another former champion.

Talbott is reportedly in the works to face former Flyweight kingpin Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 332, which goes down Sat., Oct. 3, 2026, inside Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Now, he gets another former champion.

The 27-year-old prospect started his UFC career by finishing his first three opponents, earning “Performance of the Night” bonuses for both of his knockouts — one of them coming in just 19 seconds (watch highlights).

Since then, he has bounced back in style with wins over Felipe Lima and Cejudo, putting himself right back into the Bantamweight contender conversation.

At first, it looked like “God of War” might be on his way to a title shot in a second division.

Figueiredo (25-7-1) started his Bantamweight run by taking out Rob Font, Cody Garbrandt (watch highlights) and Marlon Vera, immediately establishing himself as a threat at 135 pounds.

However, things have gone sideways since then.

Figueiredo has lost four of his last five fights and is currently riding a two-fight losing streak. In his most recent outing, he was submitted by Song Yadong in the main event of UFC Macau.

No main event has been announced for UFC 332, but three other fights have been reported for the Salt Lake City card: Johnny Walker vs. Mick Parkin, Roman Kopylov vs. Ateba Gautier and Imanol Rodríguez vs. Alden Coria.
