Wildfire relief drive seeks donations in Surrey

South Surrey will be the location for a donation collection drive on Wednesday, Aug. 12 to help thousands of B.C. residents displaced by ongoing wildfires.
The 12-hour Wildfire Relief Donation Drop-Off will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the parking lot of Shooters Liquor Store, at 2725 192 St.
Volunteers will be on-site sorting, boxing, and preparing essential supplies for rapid transport directly to affected families and emergency response hubs.
Key supplies are being being collected in four categories:
• Hygiene and Personal Care Products – toiletries, soaps, shampoo and personal care items;
• Baby and Adult Care – Diapers (baby and adult sizes) and wipes;
• Non-perishable Food and Hydration – Shelf-stable foods, Powerade and Gatorade;
• Pet Supplies and Packing Needs – pet food and supplies, plus reusable bags and sturdy boxes.
Event sponsoring partners are Kary Movers Ltd., Jess TV, Shooters Liquor Store, U-Haul International, Great Little Box Company and ProPics Canada Media Ltd.
