Police say the outstanding suspect in a massive Calgary-area organized‑crime investigation has now been located.
The update comes one day after Calgary police announced a series of arrests and charges tied to a year‑long investigation into the local criminal network.
On Tuesday, investigators detailed how an investigation that began in September 2025 uncovered a sprawling operation involving drug trafficking, illegal firearms, vehicle re‑vinning and prescription fraud.
Officers executed 74 court orders and 15 search warrants between December and March, seizing more than $58,000 worth of drugs, forged prescriptions, meth, cocaine, OxyContin, 18 firearms, ammunition, body armour, stolen vehicles and drug‑packaging materials.
Seven people were arrested on drug and weapons charges. Police also announced a warrant for 45‑year‑old Christopher Hayward, wanted on multiple counts including breaching a firearms prohibition, possession of controlled substances for trafficking, unsafe firearm storage, unauthorized possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, impersonation to gain advantage and possession of proceeds of crime.
In an update Wednesday, police confirmed Hayward had been found.
Investigators have said work continues to trace the origins of the seized weapons.
