Former WWE performer Patrick Clark, known as Velveteen Dream, will make his professional boxing debut on Aug. 29, underscoring a move from sports entertainment to sanctioned combat. He is scheduled to fight podcast host Ryan Pownall in a cruiserweight bout at Duel: Arena 1 at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. The matchup arrives 15 months after Clark campaigned for a 2025 WWE return, urging petitions to Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Shawn Michaels. Clark was released by WWE in May 2021 after allegations of inappropriate contact with minors surfaced in 2020; he denied the accusations, and Levesque said WWE found no evidence. He has not been charged. Clark later wrestled sporadically and was arrested in Florida in 2022.
