KINGSTON, R.I. – The University of Maine women’s soccer team fell at Rhode Island, 1-0, on Wednesday night at the URI Soccer Complex. The contest marked the season opener for both squads.
After a scoreless 74 opening minutes, the Rams capitalized on a corner kick in the 75th minute. The Black Bears responded with an offensive onslaught – including ringing one off the crossbar – but were unable to find an equalizer.
