1993.- Mexican powerhouse Miguel Ángel González successfully defended his WBC lightweight championship in front of his home crowd, securing a competitive 12-round unanimous decision over American challenger David Sample in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
2005.- At the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, power-puncher Hasim Rahman claimed the WBC interim heavyweight title by outpointing fellow American Monte Barrett over 12 tactical rounds.
2005.- On that same stellar night at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, the fierce Nicaraguan Ricardo “El Matador” Mayorga captured the vacant WBC super welterweight world title, dropping Italian Michele Piccirillo on his way to a dominant 12-round unanimous decision.
