The Edmonton Police Service says it is investigating the suspicious death of a 16-year-old girl in the northeast part of the city.
EPS said in a news release that they were called to a shooting in the area of 139th Avenue and 32nd Street at around 6:50 a.m. Sunday.
When they arrived, they found a seriously injured 16-year-old girl. Police attempted first aid, but the girl was declared dead at the scene.
EPS said their homicide section is now investigating.
Police said they will release additional information when it becomes available.
