Peel police say that five people have been charged in connection with a deadly shooting that left two males dead in Brampton in April.
Police responded to a shooting on the grounds of a school near Rutherford Road and Kennedy Road on Friday, April 3, at approximately 10:21 p.m. Officers found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. A short distance away, near Weybridge Trail, a male youth was also found with a gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts, both victims died from their injuries.
Following an extensive investigation, police arrested and charged Jahnoi Bell, 21, of Brampton, Mcaium Aarons, 25, of Toronto, Jayden Christmah, 23, of Orangeville, and two 17-year-old youths from Brampton.
Charges include:
Jahnoi Bell, 21, of Brampton: two counts of first-degree murder.
17-year-old youth from Brampton: two counts of first-degree murder.
Second 17-year-old youth from Brampton: two counts of first-degree murder, along with several firearms-related offences.
Mcaium Aarons, 25, of Toronto: conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and breach of a probation order.
Jayden Christmah, 23, of Orangeville: possession of a firearm for the purpose of trafficking.
Police recovered two firearms during the investigation, including one at the homicide scene and another during a search of a Brampton residence.
All five accused were held in custody pending bail hearings. The identities of the two youths are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
