One person is facing drug and weapons charges after being arrested on an outstanding warrant.
At around 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sault Ste. Marie Police say officers were patrolling Albert Street East when they located a person they say had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.
When they searched the accused, officers alleged they found about 4.2 grams of suspected fentanyl and a canister of coyote deterrent spray.
Joseph Fabiano, 32, was charged with:
Carry Concealed Weapon
Fail to Attend for Court – As Per Undertaking
Fail to Comply with Probation Order x4
Failure to Attend Court After Having Appeared
Failure to Comply with Undertaking
Possession of Schedule I Substance (Fentanyl)
Possession of Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order x4
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
Fabiano was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
