Employees under the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) can now track their provident fund (PF) balance easily, without visiting their employer or EPFO office. With the Universal Account Number (UAN) linked to Aadhaar and bank details, members can check contributions and interest online or through their phones.

Four Ways to Check EPF Balance

1. UMANG App

Download the UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app.
Log in using your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
Go to EPFO → Employee Centric Services → View Passbook.
Enter your UAN and OTP to view your balance instantly.

2. EPFO Member Portal

Log in with your UAN and password.
Click View Passbook to see employer and employee contributions along with accrued interest.

3. SMS Service

Send an SMS in the format: EPFOHO UAN ENG to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number.
Replace “ENG” with the language code (Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, etc.) for regional updates.

4. Missed Call Facility

Give a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number.
You will receive an SMS with your latest PF balance and last contribution details.

Note: Your UAN must be active and linked with Aadhaar, PAN, and bank account details to access these services.

How to Link Aadhaar with UAN

EPFO has simplified the process of linking Aadhaar with UAN, reducing paperwork and approval delays. If your details match in both Aadhaar and UAN, linking can be completed quickly.

Steps via UMANG App:

Enter your UAN in the app.
Verify OTP sent to your UAN-registered mobile number.
Enter your Aadhaar number.
Verify OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and email.
Aadhaar will be successfully linked with your UAN.

With these digital options, employees can stay updated on their retirement savings and ensure smoother financial planning.
