A two-day enforcement sweep targeting downtown Calgary earlier this month led to more than a dozen arrests and the execution of nearly 100 outstanding warrants.
Calgary police say officers carried out the operation on Aug. 5 and 6 alongside Alberta Sheriffs’ in the downtown and its neighbouring communities.
The operation focused on people wanted on criminal and non-criminal warrants.
Police say it led to 18 arrests and officers executed 91 warrants, including 77 criminal warrants and 25 tied to violent crimes.

“This work does not stop here,” says CPS Sgt. Chelsea Karpenko. “CPS and Alberta Sheriffs continue to actively pursue additional wanted individuals using intelligence gathered throughout this operation.”
Many of the warrants involved allegations such as assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest, possessing a dangerous weapon, assault with a weapon, unsafe firearm storage, breaching probation, failing to attend court and failing to follow release conditions.
More than $3,000 in outstanding fines were also collected during the two days.
