RCMP respond to report of man shooting .22 near Vancouver Island regional park

Oceanside RCMP were called out to a report of a man shooting a .22 calibre firearm in a trail network in the Whiskey Creek area in the evening of Aug. 12.
A witness told police that the suspect, a white male in his 60s, fired a gun near the power lines close to the Whiskey Creek Forest Service Road and Little Qualicum River Regional Park, according to Sgt. Shane Worth.
The suspect was associated with a dark grey sedan.
Police officers responded to the area, but did not find anyone shooting a firearm, Worth said.
