Four people including a man from Brampton have been charged after a $45,000 drug bust, police say.

The raid happened on Monday when the OPP says officers with the James Bay Detachment searched a home in Moosonee – a small town near Hudson Bay, only accessible by plane or train.

Investigators say officers seized suspected cocaine, fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine during the bust. Police also found Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia, and say the seized items have an estimated street value of $45,000.

Four people have been arrested and charged with multiple offences.

The OPP says Justin Harricharan, 21, of Brampton, Evan James, 18, of Kitchener, June Sutherland, 31, and Tyson Martin, 39, both of Moosonee, have been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.

All of the accused are being held in custody and are awaiting a bail hearing, police say.

Several Brampton residents have faced charges in the Moosonee area in recent years, including a drug bust in 2025 where a search turned up some 80 grams of suspected fentanyl with an approximate street value of $32,000. Investigators also found some 130 grams of cannabis during that incident.

Another bust involving a Brampton suspect in 2023 led police to drugs worth $110,000, weapons and $12,500 in cash.
