Police allege a 32-year-old victim was assaulted, threatened with a firearm and transported from Sault Ste. Marie to Toronto to engage in sex work
A Toronto man facing a string of charges in a human trafficking investigation has been arrested after police say he was unlawfully at large for more than three months.
Toronto police said Jaydon Anderson, 31, was arrested in North Bay on Aug. 12 with assistance from North Bay police and Ontario Provincial Police.
Police said Anderson had been unlawfully at large since April 30. The release did not say how he came to be at large.
The arrest stemmed from a human trafficking investigation launched in February 2025 with links to Toronto and Sault Ste. Marie.
Police allege Anderson used deception, coercion, control and threats to traffic a 32-year-old victim.
Investigators allege the victim was assaulted and threatened with a firearm before being transported from Sault Ste. Marie to Toronto to engage in sex work.
Police also allege sexualized images of the victim were posted and distributed online.
Investigators executed a search warrant at an address in Vaughan on May 6, 2025, and arrested Anderson.
He was charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, several firearms offences and multiple human trafficking-related offences, including trafficking in persons, procuring or exercising control and advertising another person’s sexual services.
Anderson was also charged with publishing an intimate image without consent, breach of probation, two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and other offences.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
Police said investigators executed a warrant at a North Bay address on Aug. 12 with assistance from the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team, as well as the OPP’s Provincial Human Trafficking Intelligence-led Joint Forces Strategy.
Additional charges are anticipated, police said.
He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Aug. 13.
Police believe there may be additional victims and are encouraging anyone affected to come forward.
