Man charged in Lower Mainland home invasion

A 29-year-old man was arrested this week in New Brunswick in connection with an alleged break-in and assault at an Aldergrove residence earlier this year.
Langley RCMP said they responded to a report of an unknown man inside a residence on March 13 around 2:21 a.m.
Police said the victim confronted the man and was assaulted during a struggle. Investigators were later able to identify and locate a suspect.
Christian James MacLean was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 19, in Fredericton, N.B. in connection with the incident.
The B.C. Prosecution Service approved charges against MacLean, including attempted murder, assault with a weapon, break and enter of a dwelling house, and disguising face with intent to commit an offence.
Later that same day, investigators from Langley RCMP’s serious crime section arrested MacLean in Fredericton.
The suspect was brought before the court in Fredericton, where he was remanded into custody awaiting arrangements for his return to B.C.
“As the matter is before the courts, no further details will be provided at this time,” said Langley RCMP Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, noting that the court has ordered a publication ban on the identity of the victim.
