1 in hospital, 1 in custody after Lower Mainland shooting

The victim of an early evening shooting in Aldergrove is reportedly in stable condition in hospital tonight.
Just before 7:30 p.m. on Monday night, Aug. 24, Langley Mounties were alerted to a shooting in the 26900-block of 26A Avenue.
One victim has been transported to hospital, while a suspect was taken into custody a short time later, said RCMP Sgt. Zynal Sharoom.
“Responding officers located the suspect vehicle a short distance away, and conducted a high-risk traffic stop,” he explained.
One person was taken into custody.
Residents and commuters can expect road closures and police presence in the Aldergrove neighbourhood tonight, but there is no risk to the public, Sharoom said.
