Valve has yet to reveal the price or exact release date of the Steam Frame, but third-party accessory makers are already prepared for the headset’s arrival. Several Steam Frame accessories have started appearing on Amazon (and are available to purchase), giving us an early look at the kinds of products that could be available when Valve’s VR headset finally launches.

A couple of the prices are available to see, along with delivery dates, though these may vary by region. Either way, it could be another clue as to when Valve will actually release its much-awaited VR headset, though this is just wishful thinking at this point. Until then, below are some of the accessories available on Amazon, if you’re hoping to have something ready in time for launch.

One of the more interesting listings comes from Spigen, which has listed its Cushioned Controller Grips for the Steam Frame VR controllers on Amazon for $24.99. The accessory is designed to make the controllers easier and more comfortable to hold during longer VR sessions.

The grips use a dotted, non-slip texture around the areas where users hold the controllers. They also include adjustable security straps that can be tightened around different hand sizes, which could be useful during faster games where there’s a greater chance of accidentally dropping a controller.

Spigen has also added foam cushioning and a silicone covering to improve comfort around the hands and wrists. The grips cover the controllers to protect them from scratches, sweat, and everyday wear while still leaving the sensors unobstructed.

Other Steam Frame accessories have also started appearing. Spigen has listed a Klasden Pouch for the headset, while EJGAME has a hard case designed for carrying the Steam Frame and its accessories.

Valve’s 30th anniversary was yesterday

The timing is interesting, especially as Valve reached its 30th anniversary on August 24. Many fans had expected the milestone to finally bring information about the Steam Frame’s price and release date, but Valve did not reveal either. These accessory listings also don’t provide much clarity about when the headset itself will arrive. Some products appear as currently available or without a specific release date, which suggests manufacturers are simply getting their accessories ready in advance.

That said, Valve has been slowly making preparations for the Steam Frame’s launch behind the scenes, such as assigning compatibility ratings to games on Steam. On top of that, the headset also received FCC certification recently, which is one of the final steps a product must complete before it can be legally sold in the United States.
