Police appeal for witnesses in South Surrey car crash involving cyclist

Police in Surrey are asking for witnesses to come forward after a crash involving a cyclist and a car.
Shortly before 2 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 23), Surrey Police Service officers responded to a report from BC Health Emergency Services about a crash involving a car and a cyclist at the intersection of 154 Street and 24 Avenue in South Surrey, an SPS release said.
Officers arrived to find the cyclist, an adult male, being treated by BCEHS paramedics. He was transported to hospital with what were described as serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, who was not injured, remained at the scene, police shared.
SPS’s Collision Investigation Unit has taken over the lead on the investigation, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
