Winkler product Tristan Peters is drawing attention across major league baseball with his recent home run streak.
Peters, who’s thriving in his rookie season as a centre fielder for the Chicago White Sox, homered for the fourth straight game against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, helping lead the Sox to an 11-7 victory.
The 26-year-old’s home run streak leaves him one shy of tying the White Sox franchise record of five consecutive games.
His streak comes just over a year after Peters made his MLB debut with the Tampa Bay Rays on Aug. 8, 2025. He later joined the White Sox following a Dec. 18 trade.
Across his last seven games, the former Foothills Composite student has batted .318 and reached base in more than 42 percent of his plate appearances.
After the COVID-shortened season in 2020, Peters moved to Southern Illinois University in 2021, and even played a short stint with the Savannah Bananas that summer.
That same summer, Peters was drafted in the seventh round of the 2021 MLB Draft and went on to sign his first professional contract.
Peters now has a chance to tie the White Sox franchise record for consecutive games with a home run when they face the Rangers again Wednesday.
