Springer Nature has reached a three-year transformative agreement with Cornell University Library. Consequently, the deal significantly expands open access publishing opportunities for the university’s research community.
The agreement enables Cornell-affiliated researchers to publish accepted articles in the Springer hybrid portfolio as open access. As a result, individual authors can make their work freely available at no personal cost.
Portfolio-wide coverage for the research community
The agreement covers the entire Cornell research community. Furthermore, it supports both institutional reading access and open access publishing across Springer Nature hybrid journals.
Titles included in the deal span several key imprints. These include Springer, Palgrave, Academic Journals on nature.com, and Adis journals.
By removing direct publication costs for eligible researchers, the deal aims to simplify open access. Consequently, Cornell scholars can share their discoveries openly and increase the visibility of their work. In addition, this broader access helps contribute to scientific progress across multiple academic disciplines.
