GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Cami Ayandele scored two goals, one in each half, as Bentley women’s soccer defeated Molloy 3-0 in its season opener on Friday.

The game marked a winning debut for new head coach Tim Mason, who took over in April.

Ayandele scored just 1:12 into the new season with the assist coming from Sydney DeRoche, to give the Falcons an early 1-0 lead.

In the 27th minute sophomore Olivia Matthews made it 2-nil. Abi Hennessey had the assist on the goal to give Bentley a commanding two-goal lead.

In the second half, Ayandele’s second goal of the afternoon put the Falcons in front 3-0.

Goalkeeper Holly DiPalo made four saves to earn her sixth career shutout.

Bentley ended the game with a 23-13 edge in total shots and 10-4 in shots on goal.

Next up, the Falcons will look to make it two wins from two on their season opening trip to Long Island when they take on Wilmington University on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 4:00 pm.
