A woman riding a motorcycle is dead after a collision at a rural intersection in Rocky View County.
Airdrie RCMP say officers were called around 3:50 p.m. on Friday to the intersection of Symons Valley Road and Big Hill Springs Road, where a motorcycle and a car collided.
Investigators say the motorcycle was travelling north on Symons Valley Road when it struck a car that was turning south onto the same road from westbound Big Hill Springs Road.
The motorcyclist, a 51-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, a 39‑year‑old man who was the only person inside the vehicle, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
