One of the year’s most highly anticipated shows will take over a popular park near Vancouver.
In case you haven’t seen it spotlighted on social media yet, the visuals for the inaugural Soulrise Music Festival look pretty epic.
Thankfully, the Vancouver weather forecast looks like it will co-operate on Saturday (Aug. 29), so if you’re thinking of copping a last-minute ticket, you will likely stay dry.
The downside to that last-minute ticket? They aren’t cheap.
The one-day electronic music festival was announced back in the spring, and it appears to be nearly sold out (although there isn’t any assigned seating to confirm this). At this point, you can only get Tier 5 tickets for $257.86.

Still, it looks pretty awesome. Anyma is headlining and will offer an incredible visual performance, described as “groundbreaking.” Anyma is “a hybrid persona, simultaneously coexisting in digital and physical realms,” according to the artist’s website.
And the visuals look hypnotic and are displayed on gigantic LED screens, like the creature is reaching out from the stage and pulling you in, while equally entrancing melodic techno music completes the mind-bending buffet. Check out the videos on the website for a taster.
It will be Anyma’s first performance in Canada, too.
The Soulrise cast also includes melodic techno favourites Argy, Kevin de Vries, Korolova, Son of Son and Daijo.
