Changes aimed at improving reliability, simplifying service, and better meeting customer needs are coming to Winnipeg Transit next weekend when the fall schedule launches.
The new schedule will feature annual route changes, stop additions, and several schedule improvements based on feedback from transit users.
Non-seasonal route changes include:
Routes 678: Waverley West-Chancellor and 679: Waverley will have new terminals on University Crescent. The routes will also travel through Waverley West to help reduce demand on the Blue Line.
Route FX4: Gateway-Portage will have a new terminal at the Polo Park Main Terminal for easier transfers.

Route 48: Transcona Blvd-McMeans will be extended between Kildonan Place Mall and Walmart, providing improved service in the area.
Route 649: Chevrier will be extended to improve service for residents of Whyte Ridge.
Route D:18 Notre Dame will operate on Arlington Street in both directions to simplify service.
To improve weekend and evening service, the southern boundary of On-request Zone 106: North East will be extended from Edison Avenue to Kimberly.
Route 650: McGillivray will be shortened to better align service with current ridership demand.
Additional bus stops will be added along the FX2 route on Main Street. The added stops will help make transfers easier and ensure all stops have access to controlled pedestrian crossings.
New stops have also been added on the BLUE route on west Portage Avenue.
The new schedule takes effect on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
