Juraj Slafkovsky reveals the truth about serious injury rumors

The Montreal Canadiens forward says he was fully healthy at the end of the 2026 playoffs.
The Slovak had a big regular season, scoring 30 goals and 73 points while playing an important role on one of the top two lines.
In the playoffs, though, several people questioned his physical condition.
He took a number of heavy hits, including against the Tampa Bay Lightning, and the top line lacked punch at times.
The rumors suggesting he had suffered a serious injury during the playoffs were inaccurate.
It’s a surprising statement because he didn’t look like he was at his best physically on the ice late in the postseason.
He explained that a medical examination is mandatory before players leave for the offseason, and in his case, it was nothing more than a formality, in his words.

The forward also used the interview to set an ambitious goal for himself: bringing the Stanley Cup back to his hometown of Košice.
As a reminder, Erik Cernak was the last Slovak player to lift the trophy, in 2020-21.
Slafkovsky is giving himself a maximum of three years to do it with the Montreal Canadiens, a realistic timeline for a team he believes is close to reaching its goal.
Expectations are clearly sky-high for the Canadiens this season – and for the years ahead as well.
