Air Canada has removed its planned Montreal–Algiers service from its schedule for summer 2027, according to a new update posted by Aeroroutes.
The airline had previously scheduled the route between Montréal-Trudeau airport (YUL) and Algiers Houari Boumediene airport (ALG) to resume on June 2, 2027.
Air Canada had listed four flights per week between the two cities, operated with Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
However, it appears the airline has removed its Montreal–Algiers filing.
It marks another setback for the seasonal route. Earlier this year, Air Canada’s Montreal–Algiers service, which had initially been slated to operate during the summer 2026 season, was pulled from the schedule.
The route is particularly relevant to Quebec’s Algerian community and serves both leisure and visiting-friends-and-relatives traffic between Canada and North Africa.
The latest schedule change, which Air Canada has not publicly commented on, comes amid rising jet fuel prices since the start of the conflict in Iran, adding cost pressures that could weigh more heavily on lower-margin routes and services.
