A 50-year-old Barrie man who is facing multiple charges in connection with a human trafficking investigation was arrested in Mississauga, police say.
Barrie police said that in June, officers received information about a Barrie man who was allegedly recruiting females to provide sexual services for an escort service out of his home.
Police subsequently identified online ads for sexual services linked to the suspect, officers said.
Earlier this month, on Aug. 12, officers executed a search warrant related to the case at an address in Springwater Township.
And this past Sunday, Michael Brocklebank was arrested in Mississauga “without incident,” police said.
Brocklebank is now facing multiple charges including trafficking in persons, material benefit from trafficking in persons, material benefit from sexual services, advertising sexual services, assault, and procuring — exercising control, direction, or influence.
He was also charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
Police said they are releasing his name and picture “with the belief there may be more victims.”
