Onley does not currently feature inside the leading 80 riders at all. His growing influence in the red jersey contest means the British climber could make an even more dramatic advance if he converts his Vuelta form into a major Grand Tour result.
Vuelta gains still to come
Neither rider’s current position reflects what they are achieving in Spain because the latest ranking update does not yet incorporate the completed Vuelta.
Enric Mas is another notable absentee from the top 80 despite emerging as one of the central figures in the battle for red, while Felix Gall begins the week in a much stronger position. The Austrian already sits tenth in the world on 3,005 points and could strengthen that position considerably through the remainder of the race.
The delayed impact of the Vuelta makes the present ranking something of an unfinished picture. Roglic has the opportunity to transform a lowly position created by an interrupted season, while Onley could enter the upper reaches of the classification after beginning the update outside its published top 80.
Pogacar’s world number one lead remains overwhelming
There is no change among the leading five riders. Pogacar remains ahead of Evenepoel, Vingegaard, Del Toro and Seixas, with Jasper Philipsen sixth and Tom Pidcock seventh.
Mattias Skjelmose holds eighth place, followed by Lenny Martinez and Gall. Wout van Aert rises one position to 15th, while Jai Hindley also gains a place and moves to 16th. Those advances push Paul Magnier down two positions to 17th.
Romain Gregoire climbs two places to 19th, while Tobias Lund Andresen moves in the opposite direction and falls two positions to 21st.

Bretagne Classic victory launches Alex Aranburu up the ranking
The largest confirmed move near the front belongs to Alex Aranburu. Victory at the Bretagne Classic has lifted the Cofidis rider 21 places, from 52nd to 31st, with a new total of 1,721 points.
Aranburu now sits immediately ahead of Benoit Cosnefroy, who rises four places to 32nd. Guillermo Thomas Silva occupies 33rd, Laurence Pithie climbs three positions to 34th and Ion Izagirre advances four places to 35th.
Michael Storer gains two places to reach 36th, but Arnaud De Lie suffers one of the week’s most substantial falls. The Belgian drops ten positions to 37th, one place ahead of Jasper Stuyven.
Aranburu is therefore the biggest beneficiary of the latest completed races, but the next major reshuffle is already developing on the roads of the Vuelta. Pogacar’s commanding world number one status should remain secure; beneath him, Roglic, Onley, Mas and Gall have an opportunity to reshape the rankings through their performances across the full three weeks in Spain.
