A restaurant in Brampton has been shut down by Peel Public Health after a failed health inspection.
Sanjhi Rasoi, located at 9985 McVean Dr, was inspected and closed on Monday, Aug. 31.
The restaurant specializes in Indian and vegetarian dishes.
The inspection report alleges that the restaurant did not properly store food to prevent contamination or adulteration, did not keep potentially hazardous foods at safe temperatures, and did not properly wash and sanitize utensils, among other health violations.
The restaurant is closed until further notice and may reopen after passing a follow-up inspection.
This is the only inspection report on file for this restaurant location, which opened earlier this year.
Peel Public Health regularly inspects restaurants in the region, issuing a green card if the inspection is passed, a yellow card for a conditional pass (minor infractions), and a red card if significant health risks are found.
A restaurant issued a red card is forced to close until it can pass a follow-up inspection.
