CFL suspends current BC Lion, former Okanagan Sun football player 2 games

Former Okanagan Sun and current BC Lions football player Jacob Bond has been suspended by the CFL after being found in violation of the league’s drug policy.
A positive drug test for D-amfetamine, which is classified as a non-specific stimulant on the policy’s Prohibited List, has resulted in the 23-year-old fullback being suspended for two games. Also known as dextroamphetamine, the stimulant is used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
“Players who violate the policy receive a two-game suspension for a first violation, a nine-game suspension for a second, a one-year suspension for a third, and a lifetime ban for a fourth,” reads a statement from the CFL.
“Under the policy, suspended players cannot participate in regular-season or post-season games. It is at the Club’s discretion whether to allow players to participate in other team activities, such as practices or meetings.”
If he chooses, Bond can appeal the ruling sent down by the CFL.
Bond played for the Okanagan Sun from 2021-2024.
