Now that we’ve gotten confirmation that Sydney DiMera is coming to Days of Our Lives, we suppose it’s not a surprise that she’s not the only new face coming to Salem who’s tied to Sami! Because along with the news that Sydney Malakeh is playing EJ and Sami’s daughter, our sister site Deadline broke the news that Dante has also been cast on the Peacock sudser and will be making his debut on September 14!

Played by Franco LoPresti who most recently portrayed Cliff on HBO Max’s smash hit, Heated Rivalry, Deadline didn’t give Dante a last name. But they did make clear that he, too, is linked to Sami. And since she’s engaged to one Dante Vitali, it seems that we’re finally going to meet her fiancé!
Of course, that begs the question of what he’s doing in Salem without Sami. Maybe she’s tied up with something (not literally, Lucas), so Dante’s heading there to keep an eye on Sydney and make sure nothing happens to her.
Maybe he’s got business to attend to. Heck, maybe it’s both! Dante’s appearance certainly does give credence to one of the fan theories about the Kiriakis estate’s mysterious Italian buyer! Before his name was revealed as Dominic Marino, a number of folks suspected Dante was the buyer. That could still be the case if he’s been using a fake name to move in (maybe he doesn’t want anyone in town freaking out when a Vitali returns), but he could also be coming to town working for Dominic.
Either way, it can’t be a coincidence that Sami’s Italian fiancé is coming to Salem the same time as an eccentric Italian billionaire is looking to buy the Kiriakis mansion.
