The City of Surrey has released information that the Historic Stewart Farm and Totest Aleng: Indigenous Learning House are hosting a Harvest Fair on Sept. 19.
“Gather for some fun! Enjoy a vibrant day in the park with live music, storytelling, a vendor market, hands-on activities and more,” said Stewart Farm on the city’s website.
From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. come celebrate land and harvest during this free event at 13723 Crescent Road in South Surrey.
Steward Farm shares that attendees can expect to see performers at this event, such as Canadian folk singer-songwriter Pat Chessell and storyteller Raymond Nakamura.
Chessell will perform songs that are said to paint vivid portraits of life’s struggles and triumphs while Nakamura will be reading his book which is a quirky modern take on an old Japanese folktale.
Surrey’s very own heritage re-enactment troupe called The Re-enactors will also be returning on Sept. 19. They are said to keep attendees laughing while also breaking into song and interacting with audiences.
Over 24 market vendors will be made available for guests to visit as well as there will be a few food trucks onsite.
