Gervonta Davis has finally spoken out to confirm his part in a bizarre exhibition bout with Jake Paul later this year.

The current WBA lightweight champion will take on cruiserweight Paul on November 14 live on Netflix in an exhibition boxing match. However, when the bout was announced, he was nowhere to be seen for the first day of promotion.

Now, he has shared a brief message alongside a short video showing highlights of the pair’s greatest knockouts. It serves to remind viewers how to watch the fight which is fast emerging as the biggest of the year.

Gervonta Davis breaks his silence on Jake Paul fight

Taking to Instagram, Gervonta Davis has shared a video, edited by Most Valuable Promotions, showing both he and Jake Paul landing big knockouts. It also gives instructions for where the fight will take place and how to watch either on TV or in person.

The caption is a brief one, with Davis writing to his 7.5million followers: “See yall soon..I guess! ATL gonna be too turnt. #The ONE.” He followed it with a story post saying “Yes Yes ATL”. It is the first time he has posted anything since last week, with the announcement of the fight being leaked yesterday.

The initial news of the fight came when Netflix Turkey yesterday released a poster prematurely. This was quickly followed by official news of the fight from Most Valuable Promotions and the broadcaster, who last year showed Paul vs Mike Tyson.

Jake Paul has spoken of the fight on social media

Paul has been considerably more vocal than Davis since the announcement, writing in his official post: “Gervonta who has been disrespecting my name for too long.  His nickname might be Tank, but I’m an FPV drone and I’m about to disable tiny boy.

“[Yes, he’s 1 of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world, but my motto is anyone, anytime, anyplace, against all odds. And I like my odds. First, I am going to kill David, then I will go on to slaughter Goliath.”

The Goliath to whom he is referring is almost certainly former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. He is keen to face the Brit next year, presumably after this bout, and talks have begun already.
