Extra bus service is being added.

A medical emergency on the Expo Line has forced the complete closure of a Vancouver SkyTrain station.

Nanaimo Station is currently closed, and customers must use extra bus service instead, according to a TransLink press release issued Friday afternoon (Sept. 4).

Travellers going west must transfer to bus service at 29th Avenue Station, while Eastbound travellers must transfer at Commercial–Broadway Station.

“A shuttle train is operating between 29th Avenue and Joyce–Collingwood stations,” the transit authority adds.

The Expo Line is currently experiencing delays as a result of the closure.

Staff are in place to assist customers, and the Millennium and Canada lines are operating as normal.

Customers looking for alternative routes to SkyTrain can use the TransLink Trip Planner online and select “Exclude SkyTrain” under advanced search settings.
