The start of the Labour Day long weekend is expected to bring mixed conditions, with cloudy skies in the Greater Toronto Area and a chance of showers and thunderstorms in other parts of southern Ontario.
Saturday morning will bring a mix of sun and clouds to Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Oshawa, Pickering and Niagara Falls.
Skies will start off sunny in Hamilton early in the morning before turning to a mix of sun and clouds with a 40 per cent chance of showers. There’s also a 30 per cent chance of showers in Niagara Falls, and a risk of thunderstorms in the Ottawa area.
The daytime high will be around 24 C in Mississauga but could feel more like 29 C due to the humidity. The UV index will be 7 or “high,” the weather agency says.

Saturday night will be mainly cloudy in the GTA and dry in Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton, while Hamilton and Niagara Falls could see more showers with a 30 per cent chance expected and a possibility of fog patches developing overnight.
The overnight low will be around 15 C in Mississauga.
Sunny skies are expected across the GTA for the rest of the long weekend, the weather agency says. Sunday will be sunny during the day with a high of 25 C, with clear skies in the evening and a low of 12 C. Conditions on Monday will be more of the same, with sunny skies during the day, a high of 25 C and a low of 12 C.
