London Shines in Goal Despite Loss at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – Freshman goalkeeper London Phoenix shined in net through a 3-0 loss at Clemson for UNC Asheville Women’s Soccer on Sunday (Sept. 6).
 
Phoenix recorded 14 saves between the pipes for Asheville in the match, registering a new career-high and Asheville’s first double-digit save effort since Gracie Murray stopped 12 shots back on Sept. 23, 2023 at USC Upstate.
 
Clemson would break the ice in the eighth minute with a penalty kick goal from Juju Harris for a 1-0 lead, that would ultimately remain the same at the half despite sustained pressure from Clemson with Phoenix making seven saves in the first half.
 
Clemson added goals from Ella Bach in the 48th minute and Anna Castenfelt in the 64th minute to bring the match to its final score.
 
Lili Adams also registered a shot for Asheville in the match.
